QSn6.5-0.1 Phosphor Bronze Wire – Product Introduction
QSn6.5-0.1 is a tin-phosphor bronze defined in the Chinese GB standard, with approximately 6.5% tin and 0.1% phosphorus. It corresponds to JIS C5191 and UNS C51900.
Material Definition
QSn6.5-0.1 is a copper-tin-phosphorus alloy in which tin provides solid-solution strengthening and phosphorus acts as a deoxidizer. The resulting microstructure offers good strength, elasticity, and wear resistance.
Key Characteristics
- High Strength and Elasticity: Suitable for springs, contact strips, elastic clips, and precision elastic components.
- Good Wear and Fatigue Resistance: Performs well in parts requiring repeated deformation and long service life.
- Good Hot and Cold Workability: Can be drawn into wire, rolled into strip, and formed by stamping; also suitable for welding and brazing.
- Good Corrosion Resistance: Resists corrosion in air, fresh water, and seawater environments.
- Low Magnetic Susceptibility: Generally considered non-magnetic or weakly magnetic under normal conditions.
Actual tensile strength, hardness, and elongation vary with wire diameter, thickness, cold-work reduction, and applicable standard. Final values should be confirmed by the material test certificate.
Typical Applications
Commonly used for springs, elastic contacts, connectors, precision pins, clips, and eyewear components requiring good elasticity, wear resistance, and stable forming performance.
Supply Notes
Common supply forms include round wire, flat wire, and strip. Typical tempers are O, 1/2H, H, and SH. For eyewear applications, it is often used in small-diameter wire, hinge pins, elastic inserts, and precision formed parts.
